Element Nineteen was started in November of 2005 by Katrina, a then Toronto native. Since starting her own online store (www.elementnineteen.com), Katrina has moved several times between cities on both the east and west coasts of Canada. With a large chunk of her time spent relocating, Katrina was unable to maintain the e19 website; Instead, she has moved onto selling exclusively on Etsy under the name anirtak.
All of her cultural experiences while living in different cities can be seen as the inspiration behind each and every one of her pieces.
The materials used in Element Nineteen/anirtak accessories come from various sources. The majority of the one-of-a-kind items are made from a mix of both vintage and commercial supplies. Due to the nature of these materials, most pieces are one-of-a-kind or few-of-a-kind.
Aside from crafting and creating accessories, Katrina enjoys cooking, baking desserts and spending time outdoors. Many of her daily shinanegans are documented on this blog along with current in-the-works projects.
